Instructor: Shana Calaway
Preferred pronouns: she, her
Office hours:
I will have drop-in office hours on Zoom from 10 am to 11:30 am on Mondays and Thursdays, Seattle time. My Zoom link for Spring quarter 152 is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81145341425. If these times don’t work for you, please email or message me to make an appointment, preferably at least one business day in advance. Sorry, I am not generally available in the evenings or over the weekends.
In addition to these Zoom office hours, I will be usually be online every morning to answer questions and emails. You can send me questions by email, at scalaway@shoreline.edu. You may send me questions by Canvas message. You may leave questions for me in the Q&A discussion board in Canvas (don't post anything personal there, everyone can see).
Super important -- don't leave me a message in a graded assignment and don't "ask your instructor" from WebAssign -- I don't get notifications of those questions and I will never see them. If you have any questions or you need to tell me anything, please send me a message directly -- by email or through Canvas.
E-mail: scalaway@shoreline.edu.
Finding my feedback: When I grade your assignment, I usually also include some feedback. Here's how to see it -- go to Grades. If you click on the little icon that looks like a clipboard (on the right) for the assignment, it will open up the rubric I used so you can see how many points were for each part, how many points you earned, and any comments I may have made about your work. If there's a shaded conversation balloon, click on that for additional comments, including an answer key.
What is different for Spring 2021?
Online and asynchronous
This course will be completely online this quarter. The college is operating remotely through all of winter quarter.
There will be no class meetings, either in person or online. I've made a couple of videos for each week, which you may watch at a time that is convenient for you. You may reach me online.
All our schedules have been disrupted
I understand that you might not have control over your schedule. And there will be times that I don’t have control over my schedule. We will all do our best under the circumstances.
The Math Learning Center is also open online.
The Math Learning Center is also operating remotely. I will announce the details in Canvas when I know them.
